Gone, Baby, Gone is well-known because of the movie of the same name, but it's actually the third in a series featuring P.I.s, Patrick Kenzie and Angie Gennaro. You can certainly read it on its own, as I'm sure many movie lovers have, but it's even better when you start fresh because it gives you an even better appreciation for the deeply flawed, yet lovable, couple. Gone, Baby, Gone has the two looking for a missing girl and in doing so, gets deep into the drug world and lots of family secrets.
Series order: A Drink Before the War; Darkness, Take My Hand; Sacred; Gone, Baby, Gone; Prayers for Rain; Moonlight Mile
