Lisa Genova was a neuroscientist before she was an author and it's apparent from her novels. Her fiction deals with characters suffering from neurological disorders, and with the ease of a doctor explaining to a patient, her explanatory prose helps inform readers of these tragic conditions without any air of condescension.

Inside the O'Briens focuses on several family members who have inherited the genes for Huntington's disease.
