Barb: This story is about the bloody conflict between the Catholics and Protestants from the late 1960's until the peace accord of 1998. Riveting.
Julie: I thought you'd have more to say since this was in your Top 10 of 2019 Mom...
This true account of The Troubles illustrates several perspectives through two different plots. Admittedly, I was not as familiar with this conflict as my mother was, so I spent a little more time looking things up on the side to make sure I was fully understanding. The writing was incredible, but I found it hard to follow as a Troubles novice. So, I would 100 percent recommend this to anyone who has some sort of familiarity with this era in history--otherwise, brush up on your history first, then dive in!
